Snow in the vines, 13 Feb 2014

Perfect pairings seems to be a theme in the world, or at least, in our world. We are excited to announce our latest pairing: Katuah Market in Biltmore Village is our second retail partner. We are thrilled to have Sunburst Market and Katuah Market carrying the Addison Farms Vineyard wines.

We are also using ‘Perfect Pairings’ as the name of our first Farm-to-Table event at Addison Farms Vineyard tasting room on Saturday 22 March at 6p ET. Chef Corey Marino from Catering by Corey will be preparing an incredible five-course meal, one to pair with each of the current-release Addison Farms Vineyard wines. We did a photo shoot with Chef Corey last Sunday, and after the shoot, we consumed the props! It was the tastiest photo shoot in which we have ever been fortunate enough to participate. We are confident this is something you do not want to miss. Tickets are available at EventBrite. There is a limit of just 60 seats. It is still cold, but there are hints of spring around. This past weekend, we had two very pleasant, if blustery, days. The forecast for tonight calls for a bit more snow, but we can see the possibility of warmer days ahead. We will be doing our 2014 planting in just over seven weeks. We are adding just shy of an additional 0.75 acres of vines, and replacing another 100 vines that have failed. It is exciting, but we have loads of work to get us ready for 2014. We have pruned the two acres at our other site, and we have done just a little bit of the winter pruning at the Addison Farms vineyard. In another 10-12 days, winter pruning will be behind us. While I am ready for winter to be over, I know we need the cold to stick around just a little longer to keep bud break from coming on too soon.
