From the Ground Up: How does soil affect wine

From the Ground Up: How does Soil Affect Wine presented by Shruthi Dhoopati, MSc, Viticulture and Enology

The French Broad Vignerons & Addison Farms Vineyard are hosting an interactive class about soil in our educational series "From the Ground Up". What is the relationship between soil properties and wine characteristics? We will discuss the concepts behind terroir, soil based site selection, local soils, pre-planting preparation as well as soil health. The event will include lunch catered by Zuma's Cafe and a glass of Addison Farms wine. All interest levels welcome; the presentation will be beneficial for people who are just beginning to explore viticulture as well as people who want research-specific knowledge.
